Christmas Shoeboxesfeatured

Violet is now 5 years old and is becoming more and more aware of the world around her. As a family we give alot to charity but I have wanted Violet to become more involved so this year we have made Christmas shoeboxes!

Our Christmas shoeboxes will be delivered to families in Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine via a wonderful charity called Link to Hope.

Link to Hope ask for shoeboxes to be filled with either a family or the elderly in mind. We have chosen to make 2 family shoeboxes:

This box is for a family with a young girl.

When the box is first opened this is what they will see. I think it looks really exciting! It’s been a game of Tetris trying to fit everything in!

The idea of a family shoebox is that there should be items for the whole family, not just the child. We have included:

Shampoo

Toothbrushes

Adult socks

Dominos

Playing cards

Sewing kit

Hand cream

Comb

Antibacterial handwash

Children’s toothpaste

Hairclips

Pony toy

Teddy

2 lined notebooks

Pencils and rubbers

Bubbles

A box of felt tip pens

A bead kit

Chocolate straws

Candles

Wash cloth

Light up wand

Stickers

Violet made a card wishing them a happy Christmas.

The second box is for a family with a young boy:

We have included:

Adult and children’s toothbrushes

A long lasting scented candle

Playing cards

Shampoo

Sewing kit

Antibacterial handwash

2 pairs of children’s gloves

Pencils and rubbers

Bubbles

2 lined notebooks

Snap card game

Toy car

Eye sleep mask

Building blocks with extra blocks and 6 people from our home collection

Stickers

Violet also made a Christmas card.

I will be dropping these boxes off tomorrow and they will begin their journey to a family. I hope these items give them some joy and fun together this Christmas. Violet has certainly enjoyed assembling the boxes and learnt some valuable lessons about charity.
