Review: Skip Hop Zoo Pack Children’s Backpack

Review: Skip Hop Zoo Pack Children’s Backpackfeatured

Recently I have become a bit of a bag lady. Joe frequently signs the delivery slip for another package and then sighs “is this another one of your bags? We don’t need any more bags!”

So when the opportunity to review a Skip Hop Zoo Pack children’s backpack came I had to laugh!

Zoo Hood an online store specialising in all things kids.  Bags, accessories, clothing…you name it.  They stock tonnes of fun and exciting brands which you just don’t find readily on the high street.  I recently got my hands on a Skip Hop fold away shopping bag and it’s become one of my most used things in my handbag.  So the chance to have more Skip Hop in the house made me very happy.

There are 8 fun animals to choose from to suit boys and girls.  We chose the bright yellow bumble bee bag as it’s completely gender-neutral.

Zoo Hood dispatched the bag and it arrived within 2 days.

The backpack is approximately 30cm tall which is a perfect size for a child.  There is 1 zip over the top into the main compartment of the bag and then a smaller zip at the front for the little pouch.

Within the pouch there’s a mesh pocket which will be handy to separate the things in here.

To the side of the bag is a bottle pocket.  Often I find these pockets not very functional, either too shallow, too tight or too baggy to hold a bottle securely without fear that it will fall out unnoticed.  So I was really happy to see there’s actually a really strong elastic on this pocket which allows it to be used for different sized items!  This is a big plus for me.

The straps are padded and adjustable.  Violet tells me they are comfortable on her shoulders.  There’s also a grab handle at the top so that it can be carried easily in one hand or hung on a hook off a pushchair.

The zips have big toggle pulls on them which is handy for little hands to grasp.  On the bee backpack they are shaped like little beehives which I thought was a lovely touch.  The stitching on them is a little messy though, however that’s a very minor issue.

I decided to pack up the bag for a picnic to see how much it held and here are the results.

As you can see, everything fit in perfectly and it was only about half full!

The Zoo Pack backpacks retail at £19.99 which seems fairly average for the children’s bag market.  We would recommend this bag and thank Zoo Hood for sending us something so fun and practical to try out.

We were sent the Bumble Bee backpack in return for an honest review.
